Introduction
The Institute of Nuclear Science, the predecessor of the Department of Nuclear Science, is the first institute when Tsing Hua was reestablished in Taiwan at 1956. The original core of research and education of the Institute of Nuclear Science when it was revived to have her graduate program at 1975, is the ionization radiation related research, i.e. Health Physics and Radiochemstry. In May 1987, Ph.D. program was established and the research fields have been extended from ionization radiation to non-ionization radiation, i.e. photonics. The research fields are including health physics, radiochemistry, nuclear instrumentation, nuclear medical science, environmental science, and photonics
